Lauren Conrad Lands Mega 3-Book Deal!

http://www.usmagazine.com/uploads/assets/articles/40081-lauren-conrad-next-lead/1302026890_lc-290.jpgA new chapter for LC!

Lauren Conrad -- whose debut teen novel, L.A. Candy, hit No. 1 on a New York Times bestseller list -- just scored another three-book deal with HarperCollins, she tells Us Magazine exclusively.

Called The Fame Game, the Hills alum's upcoming trilogy is set in the reality TV universe, and features Madison Parker, an ambitious, ruthless character from the L.A. Candy series who's ready to become a star in her own right. In her way? Backstabbing family friends, dogged paparazzi and one media scandal after the next!

"We took the mean girl of the [L.A. Candy books], spinning her off," Conrad, 25, tells Us of The Fame Game's tough protagonist Madison.

"This series is about a girl who loves everything that fame is, and that's all she's ever really wanted," Conrad explains. "[Madison] has fun with the press, she enjoys the attention, she welcomes scandal!"

If Madison sounds familiar (Heidi Montag, perhaps?), Conrad assures Us her characters aren't based on anyone real. "No. We have fun with it! We kind of take [Hollywood] stereotypes.

With a clothing empire to run as well (her third line debuts this fall), when does Conrad write?

"Between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.," Conrad tells Us. "My phone doesn't ring, and there's nothing on TV!"

Is Conrad's longtime beau, actor Kyle Howard, an L.A. Candy devotee? "He read my first book, which was very sweet," Conrad says, laughing. "I told him he didn't have to read the rest. "I don't think he's the target market!"

Elizabeth Berkley Pens Self-Esteem Book for Girls

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/f/1249173678/Elizabeth%20Berkley%2002.jpgMove over Dear Abby!

Best known for her roles as the book-smart beauty in Saved by the Bell and a brazen stripper in the campy screen classic Showgirls, Elizabeth Berkley now adds self-help guru to her resume.

On a mission to help young girls feel more confident and secure, the actress, 38, has penned the self-esteem handbook Ask Elizabeth.

Berkley, married to painter Greg Lauren (Ralph Lauren's nephew), was inspired by a new generation of fans watching Saved by the Bell in syndication. "Teen girls started to approach me for pictures and autographs and my husband noticed a natural interaction and encouraged me to first start with a column," Berkley told Radar Online.

She adds: "Girls' inner critics are starting to reveal themselves at a younger and younger age," she said. "And body image issues are an aspect of their lives which is causing them low self esteem and day-to-day suffering."

Her greatest bit of advice for angst-ridden teens? "One of my favorite tools is 'flip it'," she explained. "'Flip it' can become your new favorite mantra when you are having one of those mean thoughts. You can choose to flip it and change how you are feeling about yourself in that moment. This is helpful at any age."

Five Fun Secrets From Kardashian Konfidential

http://hollywoodhiccups.com/wp-content/uploads/77090151.jpgE!'s Kardashian trifecta of Kourtney, Kim and Khloé is spilling everything in the just-released triple-authored "sisterhood autobiography" called Kardashian Konfidential.

We've gotten a hold of the book and can tell you it makes for some juicy holiday reading. What secret scandals did we learn about the sisters? We'll tell you…

1. The now happily married Khloé Kardashian Odom lost her virginity at 14: Long before Lamar, the youngest of the three used to steal stepfather Bruce Jenner's car and drive to secret sex sessions with an older boyfriend.

Now 26, Khloé reveals that back then she lied about her age to her elder guy, but dishes out some wise advice in the book. "You should never, ever have sex when you're that young," she writes.

2. Kourtney's a borderline OCDer: The oldest sibling says she needs her fridge "perfect." Her glasses and dishes "perfectly lined up." Nothing can be out of order. She also "has to have" pink dish gloves. She worships cleanliness so much, she says she needs all the same style of hanger and forces baby daddy Scott Disick to do the same.

3. They dish on O.J. SImpson and how their family was involved: Although brushing over the infamous 1994 murder case case in the book, the sisters do reveal one interesting tidbit. While we knew that dad Robert, close with the former footballer since their college days, was a member of Simpson's Dream Team, we didn't realize that the infamous white Bronco slow-speed chase actually started at the Kardashian home.

4. Kim almost fainted when she met J.Lo. Oh, and J.Lo's the one who made Kim love her big booty. Kim writes that even though she's got fans, she's still one herself. "I really, really like J.Lo," she confesses. "I identify with her curves and she made me think it was sexy to have a big booty."

5. Kim's secretly into her many copycats: We knew she loved herself, but who knew she loved all her lookalikes, too? Kim says although she's now a celeb, she still loves to get out of VIP and mingle with the little people. "I like to go out in the crowd and take pics," she says of the girls who are dressed in her style. She says she gets "excited" to see them and doesn't want to let the fame ever get to her head.

"I like being myself, I don't want to be unapproachable," she says.

The book, which landed on shelves this week, also includes never-before-seen personal pictures, childhood stories, dating advice and even diary entries.

It's Book No. 2 For Kendra Wilkinson

http://www.lifeandstylemag.com/2010/11/17/Kendra1048.jpg

While Kendra Wilkinson's revealing autobiography, Sliding Into Home, wasn't a huge hit with the reality star's husband, Hank Baskett, it did debut at No. 4 on the New York Times' best-seller list. So now the 25-year-old mother is stepping up to the plate and working on a second book!

"The first one dealt with her past life and growing up, but people still crave knowing about her life now as a mom to little Hank," says a publishing insider to Life & Style. "Kendra's part of a new breed of mothers, the kind that can dress provocatively for a wild night of dancing but still get up in the morning to change diapers. She wants to show everyone you can be a mom, work and be sexy -- and you can do it all at once."
