Lauren Conrad Touches Down At LAX Airport

Lauren Conrad tried out the geek-chic glasses trend as she made her way out of LAX last night.

She recently took a trip to NYC to debut Paper Crown at ENK Coterie, though she apparently won't be wearing any of the looks until the trade shows are over due to her bad habit of spilling on the samples.

LC should be fine without access to the dressed-up line, though, since she looks equally as cute when she goes casual and also has her Kohl's collection to pull from.

Lauren Conrad's New Kohl's Spring Collection

With another range of designs ready to hit store racks, Lauren Conrad has offered up a behind the scenes look at her new Kohl's Spring 2011 Collection.

The former MTV reality star joined ET to preview the goods, as she continues to expand her partnership with the retail outlet - adding a line of sunglasses, jewelry offerings and her solely-funded Paper Crown contemporary collection.

Of the Paper Crown efforts, LC told press, "I know how important branding is, so it feels very cohesive, and very much like me."

Included in the offerings are a tiered maxi dress and cropped leather jacket, of which Miss Conrad said, "It's a very romantic dress, but the jacket toughens it up a bit."

A little bit pricier than her other items, Lauren assures potential buyers that the costs won't be overwhelming, as she tells, "Nothing is overly trendy. We want these pieces to be in people's closets for a long, long time."

Lauren Conrad's New Line; Biggest Hair Regrets

http://blog.allure.com/beauty/blogs/reporter/lauren-conrad-paper-crown.jpgWhile at Coterie, the fashion trade show at New York City's Pier 94, mentally assembling our dream wardrobe this weekend (Theory pants, Elizabeth and James jacket...), we noticed a booth coming up on our left that had boutique buyers circling like sharks. It was Paper Crown, Lauren Conrad's new (non-Kohl's) fashion line. Conrad herself was there to explain the line, wearing high-waisted leather shorts from the collection and '60s winged liner. We chatted with her about her favorite Paper Crown look and her all-time beauty hits and hair color misses.

Why the name Paper Crown? When I was little I used to go to my grandmother's and we would always play dress-up; but when I would go there, I wouldn't have my dress-up trunk with me, so we'd make these paper crowns. That was our way of creating our own glamour—and that's what we wanted the line to be like.

Do you have a favorite piece? I love the tiered dresses.

How would you wear your hair and makeup with one? Well, it depends on where I'm going and how I'm accessorizing it—but I would probably wear my hair down, because it's a chiffon dress and it's flowy, and I'd go for a more natural makeup look.

What's the one makeup item you have to wear everyday? If I can only put one thing on, mascara. I bet that's everyone's answer! I wear Maybelline New York Full 'N Soft mascara.

You've been rocking darker hair recently I usually change the color a little bit, every two and half months I go in [to Chris McMillan Salon]; it's always really subtle changes.

So you're never going extreme—no fire engine red for you? No! Actually, my hairdresser is a redhead and she pulls it off amazingly. But no, I tried red hair in high school and it did not look good on me. It was more a maroon.

What made you go for that at the time? Oh, when I was in high school, on Friday nights I used to dye my hair out of a box. It was something to do. I would just get bored, I guess.

And how long did the maroon hair last? Not very long! It was a red-brown that had turned into a purple-y maroon. I remember I showed up at school and we had gotten our new soccer uniforms that day, and it was the exact color of our new jerseys. Everyone said, "Oh that's so cool." And I was like, "I have to change this immediately! This is not intentional!"

Any other hair color regrets? I had bleached hair for awhile. It was pretty bad.

Lauren Conrad Forging Ahead With New Show

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/2011/02/107898642_a_p.jpgLauren Conrad may be headed back to the small screen after all.

Though her MTV reality series was recently dropped for being "too high brow," the 25-year-old Hills alum told Us Magazine that several other networks have expressed interest in picking up the show.

"The amount of offers I've gotten has been very flattering," Conrad told Us while celebrating her birthday at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas Saturday. "We all worked really hard on it and I'm really proud of it. It turned out fantastic, so stay tuned."

Prior to being scrapped by MTV, the proposed program aimed to be the antithesis of what made Laguna Beach and The Hills so popular: a drama-free look at Conrad's life as a fashion designer.

While Conrad's reality show continues to search for a new home, the California native tells Us she's kept busy working on her Paper Crown clothing line.

"We just got our look book and we're going to Coterie in about a week, so we're very excited about that," she said. "Things are going really great. I'm running it with my best friends. It's a really fun project."

Lauren Conrad: I'm Afraid Of Fashion Failure

http://www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Lauren+Conrad+Collection+MBFW+09+Runway+kqu1jiumJeWl.jpgLauren Conrad admits that she is always afraid of failure and there's been many, many times where she questions herself about the clothing line she's putting out.

Lauren has a right to be because of bad publicity her first Lauren Conrad Collection received for bad designs and overpricing.

Lauren attributes this to the fact that she did not always have control over the collection because someone else was financing it.

Lauren learned real quick that if you're not the boss, you always have to meet in the middle.

The end result was New York Times called her first collection sub-Old Navy.

So now, Lauren Conrad has invested a large amount of her own capital just to have full creative control and ensure that her new collection is of higher quality and success.

With this, Lauren is designing very chic, clean pieces that have good fit and good fabrics sold at upscale boutiques ranging from $90 to $390.

Lauren hopes Paper Crown will see revenue in about a year after its' release.

Gearing up to re-enter the spotlight ahead of her new reality show's debut, Lauren Conrad was spotted readying for an outbound flight from LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 9).

Still rocking her darker hairdo, the former "Hills" hottie passed through the metro airport's security checkpoint before trekking through the terminal and onto an awaiting aircraft set for departure.

Aside from her television efforts, Miss Conrad is also making final preparations for the release of her upcoming Paper Crown collection due to launch this Fall.

And while she's made it clear that she'd rather focus on fashion and writing than TV, her agent Max Stubblefield explained that the show is necessary to help keep her buyer base intact and growing.

Of the decision to return to MTV, Stubblefield said, "Lauren's new businesses will feed on the show—which will feed on the new businesses"

Lauren Conrad Starts Filming In Just One Week!

http://www.usmagazine.com/uploads/assets/articles/36359-lauren-conrad-begins-shooting-new-reality-show-in-a-week/1287059877_lauren-conrad-290.jpgLauren Conrad is getting camera ready: She tells Us Magazine she begins shooting her new MTV reality show in a week!

"Right now it's like music samples and picking lights," she told Us Wednesday at an Operation Smile event in Beverly Hills. "We start in about a week. I'm excited. It's smaller this time, which is really great and most of the people I'm working with are most of my favorite people."

The show will be shot more like a documentary (think The September Issue) and focus on getting her new fashion line, Paper Crown, off the ground.

"It's going to focus on a clothing line I'm doing with two of my best friends, but it's also going to show all the other things that I do as well as the lifestyle," she told Us.

Don't expect any catfights a la The Hills.

"This [show] is the other side," she told Us. "While we were filming, there was so much of our lives that we weren't allowed to show, and this is basically the rest."

Lauren Conrad Dishes on New Reality TV Show

After leaving the hit reality show the Hills, Lauren Conrad spent a lot of her time working on novels like L.A. Candy. Now, the 24-year-old is talking about a new MTV reality show, but this time, it will be on her terms.

“It is reality, it will be more career based so the main focus is my contemporary line, Paper Crown,” Lauren told reporters on Friday night, “But we’re also looking to focus on other projects I have in television, with Kohl’s, the books that I’m writing – so hopefully it will be all the different things that I get to do.”

Lauren says that although nothing is set in stone yet, she is very excited to do a new series.

“I’m very excited, we start filming next month and we’re still trying to get everybody on board so I don’t have a ton of details yet but I’m really looking forward to it,” the author revealed at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party (click here for pictures).

LC admits that she agreed to do the new show only if she was able to have more input on the content, as opposed to her days on the Hills.

“It was great because I was allowed to lay down ground rules and say this is what I’m willing to put on camera again and this is what I’m not. Everybody is on the same page so I’m very happy going into it.”

And as for guest stars?

“Lo [Bosworth]’s too busy for me! I have my roommate Maura who is running my clothing line so you’ll be seeing her and a couple other of my friends but it will be more of new faces, ones that hid from cameras before.”

With fresh faces, everyone is wondering if Lauren’s boyfriend and fellow actor Kyle Howard will be making an appearance.

“No,” the starlet tells OK!, but says that, “he’s very supportive.”
